SUSTAINABILITY
Named for one of the harshest environments on earth, and with more than thirty years of experience designing gear to stand up to harsh conditions, we don’t want them getting any harsher. That’s why we’re working hard to reduce our environmental impact and find new ways to help make a positive change.
ISO 14001
This is the internationally agreed upon environmental management system and sets the standard that companies must achieve. It comprises five core elements: environmental policy, planning, implementation and operation, checking and corrective action, and management review.
Community
St Vincent De Paul Society
We are proud to sponsor the St Vincent De Paul Society. This long-running charity has been working for decades to tackle poverty across England and Wales as part of an international Christian voluntary network.
Ukraine
With the outbreak of war in Ukraine, Arktis was proud to help support the efforts of the Ukrainian people in defending the homeland. We donated gear and equipment, including combat trousers, smocks, and load-bearing vests, to help outfit those fighting.
Oscar Kilo Award
We’re proud to have been a part of helping Lincolnshire Police win the Oscar Kilo Award for Absence Management. The award came after long months of working to develop a new tactical vest that minimizes the muscular-skeletal impact on officers.

Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust
We switched up our production to produce Covid masks and scrubs to help supply our local NHS Trust at the height of the pandemic. We also sold masks through our website with all profits donated to NHS Charities Together, an independent charity helping to support the NHS.
Pawsome pensions
We help to support the animal charity Pawsome Pensions. This independent fund helps support retired police and fire dogs in their life after service by helping to cover vet bills and the cost of adjusting to life after service.
Veterans Charity and Support
We regularly help support service and veterans’ charities by sponsoring giveaways for fundraisers. Locally we’ve helped sponsor 40 and 42 Commando charity events.
Environmental
Renewable Energy
Arktis is committed to protecting our communities, local and global. We paid to ensure that our Exeter HQ is powered by 100% renewable energy with Haven Power.
Recycled packaging
While our gear is designed to last for decades, we don’t want our packaging doing the same. All products shipped by Arktis are sent recycled and recyclable plastics.
Recycled plastics
Nearly half of the world’s clothing is made using Polyester, with that expected to rise by 50% by 2030. However, as Polyester is derived from crude oil, it’s not a sustainable option for manufacturers in the long term.
To help tackle this problem, Arktis has access & can use recycled Polyester to produce garments.
Also known as rPET, recycled Polyester is produced by melting down plastics and respinning them into Polyester fibre. Our D010 hoodie, for example, is made up of 15% rPET, the equivalent of about five plastic bottles.
Ark Earth Initiative – Protect the world without costing the earth.

As we all become more conscious of and committed to sustainability in manufacturing, Arktis remains dedicated to the continued development of sustainable fabrics and techniques.
